Case Study: Email Management

The Challenge

The customer was experiencing problems with spam email. Staff time was being wasted in identifying and deleting these emails.


Our Solution

We installed an anti-spam software tool on their server which checks the source internet address of each incoming email against lists of known spammers.

The software also checks the content of emails to estimate the likelihood of an email being spam.

We configured the system to allow emails from preferred contacts to bypass the spam-checking filters.

We combined this server-based spam identification with workstation-based filtering, with spam emails being placed in special folders on each workstation, so that they can be quickly deleted whilst leaving the final decision to the user.
